Apple Wallet runs on iPhone and Apple Watch. Apple Pay has close to 92% market share in US mobile wallet usage and appears across over 10 million merchants globally. NFC-enabled door locks. Your existing locks may already support NFC — many modern hotel locks do. If not, lock replacement or upgrade is required. This is the most significant infrastructure decision in the process.

In practice, the percentage of guests who prefer physical cards decreases over time as smartphone penetration increases and guests become familiar with the technology elsewhere – boarding passes, car keys, event tickets. The trend is in one direction.
